Week 5: Hey Good Lookin
The song I chose this week is Hey Good Lookin. I love this song it is so freaking catchy. They way the song is set up and how the words rhyme I think is what make so catchy; also the way he performs the song it think also adds to that. It has such a good tune that makes me tap my foot and really get into it. I think that Hank Williams has such an interesting voice. I really like it and the uniqueness it has. The lyrics to this song are just kinda cute. I think the emotion in the song is happy and upbeat. At a minute and four second it goes into just the instrumental for just a couple of seconds with the pedal steel guitar I think and I enjoyed that part a lot. I think all the instruments with the fiddles, and guitars sound really good. I think that music and lyrics mesh well together. This song really is so catchy! I also just love the title of the song lol. The pictured that you included with this post give the song a really clear mental picture for me which I love. I also found myself metaphorically tapping my foot and kind of dancing the the beat of the song because of how freaking catchy it is. I kind of love Hank Williams voice to be honest. It's different but so fun to listen to. Really adds to this song if you ask me. The instrumentals are also great. I think I need to listen to this song a few more times now so that I can really appreciate all of the fine details of it such as the instrumental break.
ReplyDeleteThis song is really great! It's such a classic that I knew most of the lyrics of this song without ever consciously listening to it. It paints a really fun tune and has a really nice and simple concept that makes it just stay in your brain. It's an incredibly catchy song and its probably going to be stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
ReplyDeleteI concur, this song is one of the most catchy, toe tappin' songs out there. Songs like these that rose to the top of the charts are what inspired the creation of the entire country genra. Not to mention the fact that Hank Williams has inspired countless country singers and bands for generations to come.
ReplyDeleteThis song is definitely one of my favorites! It definitely is one of the most toe tappin songs and the title is also amazing. The song is easy to get into and the tune of it is really happy in general.
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of this old-style country and especially the steel guitar part of the song. That's gotta be one of my favorite country music instruments and how slick it sounds. But Hank Williams is a pretty dang good country artist which is also how Hank Williams jr. came about and he also has a lot of really good music. Quite the musically talented family.
