Week 12: Believe

This week I chose to write about Believe by Cher. I have been listening to this song since I was 12 years old. Cher has such a distinctive voice and she sings this song so well! I think the music in the back is so fun, the beginning just kind of has a good vibe to it. Something that I thought was cool was that Cher uses Auto-tune and that she actually made it popular with this song.  Auto-tune corrects the pitch errors and inaccuracies. At the time it was known as the Cher effect.   The song falls under the category genre of pop. I think it has a little bit of disco vibes with the beat and music type in the back. As for the lyrics of the song, it is a song about love and heartbreak. I think it is talking about leaving old love behind and being able to find happiness and starting over. I enjoyed listening to this song and thought it has some cool history about it.
