Week 11: Gone Country

Gone Country by Alan Jackson is the song I chose this week. I really enjoy listening to this song. I am a fan of Alan Jackson and think he sing this song really good and has a really great voice. This was his 10th number one hit which was cool I thought. The lyrics and music really jive good together I think they fit well. From what I understand from the song is all these people sing or in the music world and decide to go country! The first lady sang in Vegas she has been there for ten year and hadn't really made it, so she reads about all these people buying country records and decides to go country and give that a run for her money.  The next guy seems to sing some kind of folk but the song implies it has kinda died off, so he is gone country; in the song it says "'cause, some of that stuff don't sound much different than dylan." I assume he is talking about Bob Dylan who sang folk rock, but had some country type songs. This guy was willing to go country because of that. The last guy is a serious composer in the pop industry and he ain't having it with the smog and crime in the city of LA for his family. He heads country with his voice and composing skills. That's what I took from the lyrics anyways! My favorite part of the song is the end where it says "the whole worlds gone country." lol Gone Country by Alan Jackson (Single; Arista; ASCD-2778): Reviews, Ratings, Credits, Song list - Rate Your Music
